Homemade Chicken Marsala Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts - Salt and pepper to taste - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour - 4 tablespoons butter, divided - 2 tablespoons olive oil - 8 oz mushrooms, sliced - 1 cup Marsala wine - 1/2 cup chicken broth - 1/2 cup heavy cream - Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. 2. Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour, shaking off any excess. 3. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with olive oil over medium-high heat. 4. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until they are golden brown on each side and cooked through. This should take about 6-7 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. 5. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown. 6. Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer and reduce by half. 7. Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce simmer for a few more minutes until it thickens. 8. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them in the sauce. Let them warm up in the sauce for a couple of minutes. 9. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. 10. Serve the Homemade Chicken Marsala over cooked pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
